The federal government in 2011 opened new institutions in the country, in fact it was the Goodluck Jonathan administration that worked all through to see that this institution was established.

The institution was established in 12 states of the Federation where there has been absence of a federal university.

In the North alone 9 universities was established there, it seems more universities was established in the North than the South.

1.The Federal University Lafia

We are going to start with the federal university of Lafia also known as fulafia.
The institution is located in Nasarawa State, North Central of Nigeria.
The federal university of Lafia start operation the same year it was opened.

2.Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State

The Federal University, Lokoja will be on our second list, the institution is located in Lokaja which is the state capital of Kogi state.

The institution has about 3 faculties at the time it was established in 2011, we believe that in future more faculties will be added back.

3. Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State

Federal University, Kashere is located in Gombe state. The institution was established in the state to bring education nearer to the people iin and around the state.
If you are from any Northern states it will be a nice idea choosing the Federal University, Kashere as your first choice of study.

4. Federal University, Wakari, Taraba State

Taraba state was among the 11 states that lack the presence of a federal institution prior to 2011. The state only had a state own university at that time.

You will agree with me that most students in Nigeria will prefer a federal university to a state owned university because of the cost difference.

Federal University Dutsin-Ma built by the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. It was founded in February 2011.

Federal University, Dutse ( FUD) remains one of the few new universities that ran both undergraduate and post graduate programs simultaneously immediately the institution was opened in 2011.

7. Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State

The Federal University, FutOtuoke started operations which just 282 pioneer students. But today the number has increased steadily over a period of time.
FutOtuoke today has several faculty that include Engineering, education, sciences and social sciences, humanities etc.

8. Federal University, Ndufe-Alike, Ebonyi State

FUNAI was established in 2011.
